Just registered my first domains today! In my journey to becoming a proper web developer I built several projects, committed contributions to open source, learned the tools of the trade but never fully enjoyed the fruits of my skillset. I’m proud to say I have bought two domains and will be personally developed and designed by me!

My main website, personal headquarters, in all my activities, experience and projects in a broad view. It serves not only as a general overview for my future employers, but to me as well. For example, past projects will provide me links to source code/home websites to quickly reach the project. My resume, cover story, GitHub, LinkedIn, projects and more (hopefully soon!) is all that is needed to build a strong base for me.

I bought this rather quickly in NameCheap’s Black Friday sale, where they offered a limited run of .com domains to be bought for $0.88. Their servers did crash A LOT, but eventually I got a hold of this domain for the year.

Email me if you have any questions/concerns in using the NameCheap services such as their Private Email app suite, cPanel hosting services, uploading files through FTP, or anything else related in setting up your website up through NameCheap. It does seem like a huge overload in utilizing new software, but gets very simple once you get the site live. Plus their KnowledgeBase was helpful (as much as it could be, sometimes very vague though…).

Recently the .blog domain level was unlocked and available for the general public to obtain! I had been using wordpress for five years now and have been very happy to jot down my adventures from time to time in this platform. (As would the 20% of millions of websites out there…) So I felt very happy to buy aonepathan.blog and use WordPress’s customization features to launch this website. I’ve closed all my other blogs to fully focus on this brand new website solely for blogging purposes.

Well that’s the gist of my Black Friday shopping all in all! Couple of domains and a brand new spanking Midori Traveler’s notebook.
